New publication on urban activism in Tbilisi by our team members
Dato Sichinava co-authored a piece on urban social movements in Tbilisi which was published as a part of the edited volume on urban activism in Eastern Europe and Eurasia. The book ‘Urban Activism in Eastern Europe and Eurasia’ edited by Tsypylma Darieva of ZOIS and Carola Neugebauer, our international advisor was published by DOM Publishers, renowned architectural publishing house based in Berlin.
The piece “Urban Protest Movements in Tbilisi: Movements are Strong, but Big Capital is Stronger” was co-written with Lela Rekhviashvili and Esma Berikishvili. The text represents a retrospecte of urban protest movements in Tbilisi. It discusses past experiences of these movements and explores their future prospets in the increasingly neoliberalized urban spaces of Georgia.
