The project examines the social impacts of large, private sector urban development in Batumi and Tbilisi. Socio-Spatial Georgia is funded by the Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia under the grant program for fundamental research (grant number FR-18-862). The project is administered by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University

Dissemination of our project results

Our team had a pleasure to disseminate the findings of our research through several online events. Suzy Harris-Brandts presented the results at the Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian studies (EURUS) of Carleton University (Youtube link) and at the Centre for European, Russian, and Erusian Studies, Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto (Youtube link). David Gogishvili participated in the Grand Projects conference where he presented his work on the role of government actors in the private urban megaprojects in Tbilisi (Conference program)
